Started this project on a little road trip to the coast, 5/22/2023. Starting this project is fiddly and it took me several frickin’ tries but once it was going smoothly it was just knit knit knit.

I started the decreases 17 inches from the cast-on edge, which is between the adult small and adult medium, but which made a perfect slouchy hat length. My plan was to knit the adult small, because my head is 20 inches around, but my final stitch count was 120, which is actually the adult large per my gauge. Maybe I mis-measured my gauge?

This yarn is so fun! The color changes keep mixing it up. There was definitely more yarn than I needed for the hat pattern so I couldn’t use the entire skein and get the full range of the color ombre. I started with the purple and got partway through the green, so one side of the final hat is purple starting to fade to blue, and the other side is blue and green. The two sides are really pretty different, which is perfect for this pattern.
