Done! I like this a lot.

I designed a lace tomato slice that I think looks amazingly realistic:

Cast on 6st and divide evenly among three #8 DPNs.

Row 1: (kfb) to end. 4 st per needle.
Row 2: (k1 yo k1) to end. 6 st per needle.
Row 3: (k1 kfb k1) to end. 8 st per needle.
Row 4: (k1 yo k2tog yo k2 yo ssk yo k1) to end. 10 st per needle.
Row 5: (k1 yo k1 k2tog yo k2 yo ssk k1 yo k1) to end. 12 st per needle.
Row 6: (k1 yo k1 k2tog k1 yo k2 yo k1 ssk k1 yo k1) to end. 14 st per needle.
Row 7: (k1 yo k2 k2tog k1 yo k2 yo k1 ssk k2 yo k1) to end. 16 st per needle.
Row 8: (k3 kfb k8 kfb k3) to end. 18 st per needle.

Bind off tightly knitwise with #6 needle, using TechKnitter’s “excellent method” for chain bind-off in the round:

Steam block as necessary.

My godniece asked Santa for “a kid food”, which she defined as “you know, like tater tots and hamburgers”. I guess she’s tired of her godmother feeding her duck hearts and fried crickets. So her godmother is making her plushie tater tots, and I’m knitting her a hamburger.
