The knitting is done!!! I was really avoiding the button band cause of all the stitches needing to be picked up and since I was picking up around the whole edge I thought I would need a bigger cable needle. However the cable was big enough and knitting the band wasnt as big a chore as I thought it was. Granted I went to bed waaaay to late for a Sunday night to finish the cast off but it was worth it!!!
Mods:
- Used back cable on sleeves instead of ribbing.
- Added hood adapted from Central Park Hoodie
- knitted band all the way around the edge of sweater including hood.
- Used Judy’s Super Stretcy Bind Off for band ribbing.
- Using zipper instead of buttons

Its been going rather well. At first I though the yarn was too bubblegum pink but knit up it looks really pretty. My niece came with my to my LYS an picked it out and she also picked out the sweater pattern. I swatched (but didnt wash) and the gauge was right on. I figure after washing it will only get bigger.
The sweater is knitting up quite fast and I love the pattern. I did however modify the sleeves. I didnt like the ribbing. Personally I dont like a sweater to hug my arms. So I just used the same number of stitches and used the back cable pattern to go at the length of the sleeve.
Im loving it!!! Its soo cute. Im just scared the sleeves may be a little to short. I havent attached them yet so Ima wait to try them on my niece to get a better measurement. So far so good though!
