Pearls are said to be an oysters way to heal from wounds and thus a very beautiful token of an obstacle overcome. I designed this shawl during one of the less bright times of life and the pearls are a twofold reminder of this time passed and alle the bright pearls of hope and friendship I am blessed with in life.

I’ve got a rose arch at the end of my garden that each summer carries an abundance of deep pink roses and I just wanted to mimick this abundance in my shawl. So it starts with just the odd blossoming rose and then finishes with an abundance of colour.
