Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Teapot mittens are designed to fit your thumb better. They use increases from wrist to palm, then make a thumb that’s wider at the base than the tip, just like your thumb is.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Quatern hat is a simple beanie with raglan decreases. The pattern includes sportweight and fingering weight versions.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Leeway is the sport-weight version of the Marginalised Hat, a hemmed, two-colour beanie that can be made with two 50g balls of sportweight yarn with plenty left over.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Marginalised Hat is a simple, two-colour hemmed stocking hat. You can use up leftover sock yarn for the contrasting hem and use less than one 50g skein of yarn for the crown. Or make stripes and use up more leftovers!
Knitting: Drawstring Bag
The Apothecary’s Pocket is a small drawstring bag made from about 30yds of leftover sock yarn. The pattern includes two variations, a single drawstring with a toggle, and a double drawstring.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Squishville socks are for padding around the house in winter. They are knit cuff down in sport weight yarn and the heel and sole stitches have a strand of mohair/silk lace weight yarn as a carry-along (hat tip to Cat Bordhi’s Cushy Footbed socks). You will not need a full ball of mohair lace yarn, leftovers will work nicely.
Knitting: Ankle Sock
Zen Waves is a pair of mirrored socks, the triple cable pattern is reversed on the second sock and placed on the other side of the foot. There is an Eye of Partridge heel flap and a rolled cuff. Calf shaping can be added in the purl gullies on the back of the sock if required.
Knitting: Scarf
This is a scarf designed to bridge the gap between the neck and the end of the coat, when you don’t want the bulk of a full scarf. It is named for the Orwell Bridge in Suffolk, England, which I’ve been across many times.
