Beyond the Horizon Shawl is designed to display the brilliance of late spring and early summer. During the twilight hours of this magical time each year, if you look off into the horizon you will see not only grass and flowers, but also birds as they fly to find their roosting spot for the night.

Buffalo River meanders through several different landscapes before they reach their destination. Over rocks and around bends as it ebbs and flows. The drop stitches in this pattern represent the ripples that are made by water moving over the rocks. The side cables represent the grass and reeds that grown along the banks.

The Mae Flowers shawl is in celebration of all things spring. Spring is a time for rebirth and renewal of the earth. The simplicity of this shawl brings out both of these aspects. The garter body reminds me of the furrows which are plowed into the ground every planting season and the lace edging is the plants as they start to blossom and sprout.

The Lindisfarne shawl is reminiscent of the pillars found outside of the Lindisfarne Priory. Although the pillars have started to crumble over time, the distinct zig zag etchings are still visible today.

The Loire cowl is reminiscent of the stained glass window found in the Loire Valley castles. Many of these windows arched at the top for added beauty and grace. They were surrounded by stone walls to offset their splendor. The Loire Cowl is the perfect weight to wear during the Spring, Summer and Fall.
