“Tusk” is a slipover with an unusual construction using two different rib patterns, of which one is worked with a slant. At one sideline, the slanted ribs of back and front meet, starting with a slit (or rather a gap shaped as a triangle). “Nachtwächter” was named after the beautiful teal main color hand-dyed by the talented Skudderia. It is a sweater, but inspired by a poncho, with its extra long Raglan lines and lots of ease. The back features a mock button band with three buttons in CC, just added for decoration.

The “Schwan” (German for swan) is a sweater in Half Brioche with slanted lines on the lower body which are continued to shape the V front neck. The fronts’ shoulder pieces are worked even over the shoulders and joined to the back, which is ended early with short rows, so the back neck is V-shaped, too.

“Matjes” (a traditional food from Northern Germany made of young herring) is a hybrid between an oversized, one-size-fits-all vest/ cape (or even a big shrug) and a cardigan with ½ sleeves. You can throw it over quickly on chilly mornings.

“Rainbird” is a sweater with ¾ dolman sleeves and lace inserts in triangle shape at front and back neck and the sidelines. It is recommended to use a drapey blend with a bit of linen, hemp or silk – or maybe even a yarn combination with Silk Mohair?

This shawl combines an interesting stitch pattern (which is not as complicated as it appears) with a color sequence, or rather two: First, the rose shades fade out on a very light turquoise background, and in the second half, the turquoise/ teal shades fade in on a very light rose/ sand background. This easy summer shirt/ tunic is worked top-down, beginning with separate saddle shoulders pieces from which stitches are picked up. The small stripes in 5 contrast colors (the “dinghies” sailing in the water) are worked on the body only, sparing the sleeves.

The “Spica Moon” shawl has the shape of a crescent: While decreases at the sides shape the outside, the inside will get its curve from the fact that the 2-colored slip stitch pattern draws the fabric together more than the Garter background.

This spring or summer shirt is worked top-down, with lace inserts on back neck, saddle shoulders and sidelines. The ¾ sleeves and hem are worked completely in Dewdrop lace.

“Spring turns into summer” is a shirt with a spring side and a summer side. Its neckline is shaped the same way for back and front, so you can wear it from both sides, depending on your mood.

“Sailorette” is a sailor’s shirt with a feminine touch or two: obviously the lace pattern on shoulders and hem … plus the slightest hint of rosé in the stripes.

“Tideland” is a summer shirt featuring an interesting yoke construction with a built-in rounded neck opening and a slight drop shoulder, underlined by wavy stripes in the colors of the sea. It is shaped by circular decreases on the yoke in combination with wedge increases between underarm and shoulder.

The sweater/ tunic is knitted top down, with Raglan increases in the back and yoke increases spread evenly over the rest of the row (I call this construction ‘YoRa’ and I have used it for several designs by now). This way, the rounded front neckline is lower than the back neck, without the use of any short rows.

This is a rather simple name, but after all, I have created a really simple pattern - at last!
