Stitches are picked up around the edges of the square, then worked in the round in and increased at four points, similar to a raglan yoke. Stitch patterns alternate between lace, stockinette and...

Knitting: Backpack
CONSTRUCTION This small backpack comes in two sizes, and features a stitch pattern created through knitting into rounds or rows below the live stitches. The stitch pattern looks like bubbles on the right side of the fabric and lattice on the wrong side. The bag is worked from the bottom up, starting with a mitred square worked flat. Stitches ar...

Knitting: Market bag (slouchy)
CONSTRUCTION This medium sized market bag features seedhead bobbles, which are created by knitting into stitches below the live stitch and passing stitches over. The bag is worked from the bottom up, starting with a mitred square worked flat. Stitches are picked up around the edges of the square, and then worked in the round in twisted ribbing,...
Knitting: Vest
CONSTRUCTION This set-in-sleeve vest is a more masculine take on the Always Vest, with deeper armholes and wider shoulders. It is worked from the bottom up, without waist shaping. The hem and body are worked seamlessly in the round, then the garment is divided into front and back, which are worked flat and shaped at the armholes and neckline. L...
Knitting: Sleeveless Top
CONSTRUCTION This summer top is worked from the top-down, beginning with the front straps, which are worked flat and shaped to make a scoop neck. They are joined to make the front, then the armholes are shaped. The back straps are then cast on and worked, then joined to make a deeper scoop in the back. The back and armholes are shaped, then the...
Knitting: Cowl
CONSTRUCTION This double-lined, lace cowl is worked in the round from the top down. A picot edge is worked in the contrast colour for the top hem, followed by the main colour body of the cowl featuring a lace panel resembling a swarm of butterflies. The contrast colour is again used for the picot edge of the bottom hem. The liner is worked in r...
Knitting: Cowl, Fingerless Gloves, Beanie, Toque
This three pattern collection features a cowl, toque and pair of fingerless mittens. These patterns use the same yarn; however, you will hold two strands of DK weight (double) for the cowl, while for the hat and mitts, you will hold one strand of DK (single). They all feature a twisted traveling stitch pattern which was adapted from the Always ...
Knitting: Pullover
Legacy Pullover was a special project for me, as the yarn used was grown by a flock of sheep which once grazed a green space in a city where my family used to live. Our young children and I used to visit these Finn sheep often in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, and we were allowed to pet and feed them. The yarn I used for my sample was from...
Knitting: Vest
A more masculine version of this vest (without waist shaping) can be found here: Evermore Vest.

The Miles collection of accessories is named after a character of The Holiday, one of my favourite Christmas movies. Miles, played by Jack Black, is humble and funny and doesn’t think too much of himself, but people are drawn to his open and honest nature. I tried to reflect those aspects of his personality in these simple but interesting acces...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This crescent-shaped shawl features a diamond lace centre panel surrounded by reverse stockinette, with i-cord edges and finishes. The shawl is worked from the top down starting with an i-cord cast on. The i-cord is maintained along the sides of the shawl and is mimicked through slipped stitches bordering the lace panel. The lace panel grows th...
Knitting: Pullover
This circular yoke pullover is a spin-off of the Sunshower Pullover for kids; however, the gauge and charts have been altered in this adult version. It uses one main colour of worsted weight yarn, along with six mini skeins in a rainbow gradient, worked top-down and seamlessly in the round.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Stranded colour work can be a great way to use up stash scraps or the remainders of a knit sweater. I used the leftover yarn from my Moody Hue pullover design (coming Nov 1) to come up with this rainbow hat in murky stripes.
Knitting: Sleeveless Top
This summer tank features a scoop neck front, v-neck back with decorative lace, straight body shaping, and i- cord edges and finishes.

Knitting: Tee, Sleeveless Top
The Sora Top is a seamless, boxy top with lots of i-cord edges and some waist shaping. Decorative lace on the back and top of the front adds some interest. The light fingering wool/cotton yarn recommended is knit at a very loose gauge which creates a fabric with drape, that fills out when washed and blocked.
Knitting: Cardigan
This cropped girl’s cardigan is available in 9 sizes fitting babies up to pre-teen’s. The garment is worked seamlessly from the bottom-up, starting with the sleeves and body worked separately, then joined to form the yoke. The yoke is shaped through raglan decreases and the neckline through bind offs along the edges.
Knitting: Dress
This girl’s summer dress is knit from the bottom up and in the round, coming in nine sizes from toddler to pre-teen. Starting with a somewhat complex lace hem, the dress is decreased along the A-line stockinette skirt to the lace waistline, after which an open back is bound off. From there, the dress is knit flat while a dipped neckline is shap...

As the cowl is worked top-down, it is widened to fit shoulder circumference so that ...

Knitting: Mittens
This Christmas-themed colour work mitten is made with non-superwash wool, creating a very warm, cozy accessory coming in two sizes. Because the color work chart is the same for both sizes, I have suggested two different yarns to alter the gauge in order to size up or down the mitten. You may use a worsted weight yarn for the smaller size, and a...

This simple hat is made using 100% Rambouillet, non superwash wool in a fairly tight gauge which gives it structure and extra warmth. Slipped stitch detail running up the length of the hat add interest and are a good way to mix up colors if you’d like you use up some of your stash yarn. There are also guidelines included for substituting differ...

This little girl’s dress is knitted using DK weight yarn from the top down, including knitting in the flat while casting on along both front edges to shape the neck. Knitting: Pixie Hat
This heavy worsted-weight striped elf hat is knit in the round, creating its circular stripes, if done in a self-striping yarn, and only takes up to one 100 gram ball to complete any size. The pixie style stays on with a chin strap and button, available in five sizes fitting from babies to adults. It is a fast knit but not a simple construction...
Knitting: Cup / Mug
Easy and quick stash buster! Good for that leftover fingering wool from Heather’s Cowl. The colour possibilities are endless!
Knitting: Cowl
This pattern is worked in the round with a circular needle, and is a quicker knit than might appear at first glance. It requires one 50 gram ball each of five colours in fingering weight.
Knitting: Pixie Hat
This pattern can be made with one 50 gram ball of fingerling weight wool. It’s much cuter if the hat is a little big (its a little small as shown on my son, but I’ve adjusted the pattern so that it should fit a 12 month old). Unlike the other pixie hats I’ve seen in 2x2 ribbing, this one is worked in the round, so it will create its own circula...
