Knitting: Ankle Sock
Measure around the ball of the foot. An average width woman’s size 9 foot will measure 9 inches. Multiply foot measurement times gauge, minus 10% for negative ease, for a snug foot.
Knitting: Scarf
This easy scarf or cowl is the same on both sides. It is knitted with just two alternating rows. The edge stitches give it a nice even edge. Be sure to knit it somewhat loosely so that the scarf is soft and drapable. Use two balls of yarn for a nice long scarf or cowl.
Knitting: Ankle Sock
Use any aran weight white yarn to substitute for the Sandstone Farm yarn. Number of yards is approximate. The pair of finished socks weigh 3 3/4 ounces.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks

Knitting: Vest
Knit in the round to the armholes. I used a long circular needle and the magic loop method.

The socks are a gift for my friend Alice who gave me a room in Vancouver the night b...
Knitting: Ankle Sock
Design Features: The extra stiches in the cast-on make for a flexible top edge on the cuff. This easy heel design allows the self-patterning stripes to wrap nicely around the foot with minimal interruption.
Knitting: Ankle Sock
A great way to use up that wonderful self striping yarn that you have left over from another project. Even a small amount can be used - just make the toe out of solid coloured yarn if needed, and you can start the colour change halfway down the instep if need be. The trick is to wind your self striping leftover yarn into two equal weight balls,...
