Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
’Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb the golden stair’. I always thought Rapunzel was a bit of a wimp, personally. But I envied her hair. That long, gorgeous, golden hair. The braid pattern featured in this sock makes me think of Rapunzel’s braid, tossed out the window, waiting for someone to rescue her.

These socks are named for the Eucalyptus trees that surrounded my grandpa’s house when I was a kid. No matter how cold it got during winter, I would look out the window and see the leaves hanging from the trees in the bushland around the house. The wood also made excellent smelling firewood, which made sitting next to the fire knitting with my ...

Knitting: Cardigan
When my sister announced that she is pregnant with her first child (and my first nephew - so excited!), I decided that her annual sweater would this year be a cardigan, to allow for her growing belly.

Symphony was inspired by my love of music. To me, the nupps on the border look like notes on sheet music, and the body pattern is a cascading series of diamonds that swirl around you and lift you up to that pure place that only music can take you.

It was freezing. I only had a few balls of DK weight yarn and some big needles with me, and I needed something to keep me warm – fast.

Knitting: Pullover
Itchy Lock is an almost seamless kid’s sweater knit in two directions - bottom up for the body, and top-down for the sleeves, with a central cable motif and v-neckline.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap, Scarf
This shawl was originally called Blackberry, due to the stitch pattern of the body. However, when my photographer and I went to work, we discovered the black wool absolutely COVERED in grey and white fur – my cat had been using it as his own personal bed when I wasn’t looking. As we picked out the fur using sticky tape, she muttered wryly “Laza...
