eBook : 6 patterns

In the middle of my first real winter, I’ve been freezing and dreaming of the California coast. These socks are both a nod to one of my favorite plays as well as a fond wish for warmer temperatures. The final collection will include 6 patterns, each named for a line in the play.

eBook : 14 patterns

This ebook contains 11 sock patterns, and a few surprises. Patterns were released monthly from Sept. 2017- July 2018. Hope you enjoy it!

eBook : 14 patterns

This collection is inspired by and written in honor of those who do good in this world. It is a progressive pattern collection-- at least one new pattern will be added each month from September 2019 through July 2020. Each pattern will feature someone who has done something the author admires, and will be accompanied by biographical information on that person and a small collection of websites where more information can be found and/or donations to the good work can be made. At the end of the “year” (in July), 20% of each sale (i.e. 5 of the 25 US dollars on each sale) will be donated to a variety of these good causes.

Welcome to a world tour through sock patterns. We’ve all been in quarantine for a long time now, and we definitely need some inspiration. Please join Claire Ellen’s pattern group for knit-a-longs and more information.

A collection of four shawls in honor of a group of the toughest, most resilient, most beautiful women to grace the silver screen. Each woman faced discrimination from both the film industry itself and the press, and overcame great odds to create outstanding performances that have endured long after their deaths. Recently honored by the city of Hollywood, all four are part of a structure at the beginning of the Walk of Fame down Hollywood Boulevard.

When Hamlet starts acting crazy, all manner of theories abound in the Danish Court. After Hamlet follows his father’s ghost up the battlements, Horatio and Marcellus discuss the possible meanings of the apparition. “Isengard is a circle of sheer rocks that enclose a valley as with a wall, and in the midst of that valley is a tower of stone called Orthanc. The Great River Anduin takes the Fellowship past Rohan and the Brown Lands to the Falls of Rauros, guarded by the huge statues of Isildur and Anarion. “In Rivendell there was memory of ancient things; In Lorien the ancient things still lived on in the waking world. The leg of this sock features an allover pattern that tapers down into a point over the top of the foot. The pattern is inspired by one of Tolkien’s Valar, Nienna, who took on the grief of all Arda after the fall of Melkor. The pattern looks similar to smocking, but is actually very elastic.
