This vest is worked up and down and around from the left side to the right. Vertical stripes are produced by changing between 2 different yarns. Shaping is added using short rows at the bottom which results in some flare that is flattering to many body shapes and is comfortable to wear.

It is a button front cardigan for 18” dolls which is knit from the top down. Basic construction directions are written out, but pattern is entirely charted.

Small buttons or large beads can be used to fasten the coat closed: as many as you choose, since the entire edging has small holes which are used as button holes.

200 yards red, 50 green, 75 cream. Used Blackberry Ridge Nubby Yarn for the first two, natural Bulky for the Cream.

This small cowl was designed to be worn as either a hat or as a neck gaiter. The main part is a simple broken rib pattern which appears the same on both sides. On the top edge, an eyelet round is worked and then the stitches are bound off. An I-cord is made to pull together the top for wearing as a hat or left loose when worn as a neck warmer.

The pattern calls for 130 yards of the main color and 50 yards of the contrast color. The main triangular panel is worked first and then joined together with a small section in back.

Calls for 3 oz of the main color (red or green), 2 of the first contrast color (green or red), 2 oz of cream and 1 oz of brown. Exact yardages needed depend on the pattern used.

The two yarns are plyed together; each requires only 360 yards. If only one yarn is being used it should be bulky weight.

This pattern uses 4 colors of sport weight yarn, but only two colors per row. These form traditional repeating patterns common to the Faroe Islands. The pattern is knit in the round and uses steeks for the front and sleeve openings.

Pattern can also be done in Bulky Weight, in which case the gauge is 6 sts = 2” and 120 yards are called for.

Pattern calls for 350 yards of the main color and 15 yards of contrasting specialty yarn, such as hand painted mohair bouclé. The contrasting yarn is woven through the dropped stitches after the knitting is done.

This loose fitting pullover sweater has a simple knit/purl pattern that is easy to follow but keeps the knitting interesting. It is worked in Gansey style construction with a minimal amount of finishing to do after the knitting is completed.

This sport weight sweater, done in 25% silk/75% wool yarn, was designed as a reminder of all the marvelous lighthouses along the coast of Maine. Knit in round to underarm. Lighthouse is knit on front only. Sleeves are picked up and knit from armholes to cuff.

This pattern can be done in DK or fingering weight yarn - the fingering weight would be a little smaller as written but the size could be easily modified by adding repeats. For DK weight use 7” needles, for fingering use size 6.

This pattern is named after a mythical Shetland troll, Lockaminnie. Cotton Grass, which has fluffy seedpods like Milkweed, was called Lockaminnie’s Oo (wool). This shawl features motifs representing a number of Shetland plants.

This is a small cowl, quick to make, and warm to wear. People will be baffled at how it is done. It is a great project to show off some hand painted yarn in a bulky weight.

In both the band and the main part of the hat, the yarn is doubled. But both the main color and the contrast are sport weight, so the hat is still fairly soft. You need equal amounts (170 yards) of each color and you can choose to knit the body of the hat with either the solid color or the handpaint. Quite a nice hat.
