I have suggested worsted weight yarn, because if you follow the pattern exactly as written you will end up with an adult size hat. However, the “pattern” is really a formula that is easily adjusted to other sizes, by making fewer decrease rounds, or using lighter weight yarn and smaller hooks.

This is more a recipe for a pair of slippers that can be made in any weight yarn (worsted is listed above because the sample pair I made and the one photographed in the pattern is an adult size slipper in worsted weight superwash wool), and for any size foot from infant/toddler to adult.

I was looking for a pattern to make a scarf for a friend (Nancy, of course), and couldn’t find one that I liked that really showed off the long color changes of Noro yarn.
