Beyond the Border is a standard brimmed, cabled hat with an added border of color. The border is actually worked in during the rest of the hat construction. The hat comes in two sizes and making the hat smaller or larger is easily accomplished and explained within the pattern.

The yarn “Juicy” by Harmony Fiber is only found at a few select shops in Alaska, including Wooly Mammoth Alaska. Any gradient yarns would look great in this simple stitch pattern!

I saw a hat like this online a long time ago and liked it a lot, so I’ve created my own pattern to look similar to what I saw. It’s a slip stitch ribbing mixed with clusters and single crochet to give it a lot of texture on the cap/crown.
