Knitting: Booties
I admit I am one of those knitters when I see DPN (Double Point Needles), I hesitate a bit and think about whether I really want to attempt a pattern (yes, DPNs are intimidating sometimes!). So I came up with this sweet eyelet booties pattern that is knitted all in one piece with just a pair of straight needles. No need to use DPNS, crochet hoo...

This flower is easy to knit and oh so colorful! I recently bought myself some two-toned shoes (camel color with a rim of black on the toe) and it was love at first sight! Then I found myself drawn to a gorgeous two-toned purse. So I thought why not design a two-toned knitted flower!

Owls have been everywhere these days! I found this yummy dusty purple yarn and immediately thought of an owl. I wanted to include the owl feet (claws) to look like it was sitting on top of the baby’s head. Not that it would ever happen in real life! Super cute anyways and really fun to knit!
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Ahh butterflies! When I thought about knitting a baby butterfly hat I had this image of a big butterfly landing on my baby’s head while she was playing. Of course, the butterfly had to be a big gigantic one! As you can tell from the title, I am trying to fit in as many B words as I can! Enjoy!

With spring here I have noticed these wonderful floral patterns everywhere I go. So I wanted to replicate some of these fresh prints onto a knitted hat. With a little colorwork and fair isle knitting I found myself knitting a wonderful vine pattern onto the hat with pink flowers and sky blue.

My pattern incorporates a hair tie at the back to ensure it stays snug and give it some more elasticity. I have written out instructions for both a 1 color headband and also for the 3 color headband that you see in the photo. So you kind of get 2...

I found this color of yarn that is, how can I describe it, lion-y? Somewhere between buttercup, light mustard, and beige lies this “lion” of a color! Anyways, all I can say is that it is made by Georga yarns and it is absolutely delicious! Of course it reminded me of a lion and of course I had to knit a cute baby hat from it…and voila!
