These are inspired by Rose Tyler in the BBC series Doctor Who. In the Season Two episode ‘Doomsday’ Rose is wearing cabled gloves that I have reproduced here.

These fingerless gloves are also mittens! You get all the warmth of mittens, but they allow your fingers freedom to do smaller tasks as well. And as a bonus, the thumb converts too! This way you can keep track of your music on your ipod, or text on your phone with no hassle.

This pattern is knit in the round, only the straps need to be sewn to be attached.
