Knitting: Ornamental Flower
This is a simplified version of the pattern I use to make these poppies. I wrote it for the kids at the Arts & Crafts area at the weekly Palestinian solidarity demos in my local city. It includes diagrams on how to sew the petals together and add the centre & ties. It’s in garter-stitch with simple increases and decreases so is suitable...

Knitting: Pullover
A one-size pattern replicating a friend’s favourite sweater. It has a shallow neckline, full-length sleeves and some shaping at the hips. Shoulders are joined with 3-needle bind-off and sleeves are sew...

Knitting: Beret, Tam
One of my friends was given a lovely hat that another friend had found in a charity shop. It suited her so well she was keen to have another. I couldn’t find quite the right pattern in Ravelry so I reverse-engineered it. It’s designed to be worn as a beret, but it also works as a beanie.

Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I wrote this pattern to use the first yarn I made using a drop spindle. The original fibre was grey and black Shetland tops, plied together resulting in 45 yards of yarn averaging 8 WPI.

Knitting: Pillow / Cushion
The colour and texture of the Wendy Aran Boucle with Wool yarn that I found in my Mum’s stash inspired me to make this cushion cover. I love the bouncy effect you get with moss-stitch, and this yarn makes it even more springy. The colours reflect the local countryside at this time of year (late Autumn).
