This is a quick and easy party bag perfect for Halloween! It can be can made in a day using basic knitting skills. It’s knitted on straight needles,sewn at the sides and then machine washed until felted to the required size. One 40 degree C wash will result in the medium size; two washes will result in the small size:

I decided to try my hand at hand-dyeing yarn and wanted to try using plants from my garden. I purchased undyed “Bare” yarn and dyed it in my kitchen (after mordanting) with the wildflower “Celandine”. The resulting colour reminded me of a French straw basket and that was how the pattern was born.
