Lately I’ve had a weird obsession with pointing. No, just kidding… but I have been incorporating arrows into my everyday designs more often than usual, so I wanted to knit some as well! Nothing complicated, just the perfect combination of purls and knits in an easily memorizable pattern.

Cables, lace, columns of purl stitches, and something happening every third row… that’s it! It’s the simplest way to knit seemingly complicated socks while being almost as mindless as a plain vanilla.

In my opinion, cables are the best way to cure vanilla sock boredom. These socks start with a horseshoe cable that grows into two separate braids right at the point where you need a wider circumference.
