Knitting: Cardigan
This is a new version of my Oak leaves cardigan, with a slightly different arrangement of leaves, designed specifically for heavier weight yarn. It will work well with either Dk or worsted weight yarn.
Knitting: Cardigan
This is a sweet and simple top-down cardigan with cap sleeves and buttons in the yoke section. Trailing stems wind their way down each side of the front, with oak leaves branching off all the way down. The leaf motif is repeated around the yoke. The pattern can easily be adapted to add long sleeves or buttons all the way down.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl starts by knitting in the round from the centre back. Wings are then added. Finally a bottom border is knitted on. There is no seaming involved. The lace pattern is simple, to showcase beautiful handpainted yarn (in this case from Elvincraft).
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Toe-up socks with cabled tree roots on the feet growing into lace leaves on the legs. Perfect for hidden elves! These socks have two unusual design features: one is that the foot pattern extends onto the gussets, so there is no blank triangle on each side of the heel; the other is that I have used German short rows to turn the heel – no wrappin...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This is an asymmetrical shawl with stems and leaves growing from the top edge and opening out into flowers to form the bottom edging. There is lace work on both right and wrong side rows – no resting purl rows! There are also optional beads on the stems of the leaves and at the points of the flowers.
Knitting: Shrug / Bolero
Leaves spiral out from the centre, flowing into a reversible lacy edging which folds back into a pretty collar.
Knitting: Vest
Errata: For the full shell pattern, Row 15 should have 13 stitches, not 7 as stated. Row 19 is where it decreases to 7 stitches.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
This beret features leaves spiralling out from the centre then narrowing into a ribbed brim. A link to instructions for the centre start is given. The cast-off edging has picot points at the tip of each leaf.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
This beret features climbing roses, with leaves and sprays of flowers, which grow towards the centre and eventually become entwined around each other. The brim is a plaited cable from which stitches are picked up for the centre.
Knitting: Scarf
This is a sweet and cozy hooded scarf that keeps you ears and neck as well as your head warm. It has trailing vines with flowers and leaves framing your face, a lacy, leafy edging around the neck, plenty of cables, and lovely leafy ends which can be made short and fastened with your favourite shawl pin or brooch, or long and tied in front or wr...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This is a modular pattern that can be adapted to any size and shape. It is ideal for showcasing handspun yarn with relatively slow colour changes. I used Wensleydale fibre hand-dyed by Hedgehog Fibres spun into an approximately sport- to fingering-weight 2-ply yarn. The slow colour changes, in combination with the random nature of the 2-ply, me...
