Knitting: Earwarmers
FISS (Fair Isle Slip Stitch) is a method for working a 3-color motif. Knitting with only 1 or 2 colors at a time, this technique works like magic to give the appearance of 3 colors in each row. Helen Robertson from the Shetland Islands developed this technique.
Knitting: Scarf
This scarf is inspired by the work of designer Lucy Hague, who has done much to advance the field of slip-stitch, reversible patterns.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This fun child’s hat incorporates a provisional cast-on, short rows, and Kitchener stitch grafting. These techniques are not explained in the pattern.

Combining two colors, double-knitting and reversible cables makes this scarf unique.
Knitting: Earwarmers
Keep your ears warm without overheating your head when out in the snow. This project is great for beginners in stranded knitting. It works up quickly with only two colors of worsted weight yarn. Pattern has five sizes and two widths (3 & 4 inches, 7.6 & 10.2cm).
Knitting: Coaster
Coasters are a quick knit and an easy way to learn a new technique such as intarsia. Felting the coasters gives the added bonus of hiding any inconsistencies in the work. Coasters are also a good stashbuster project as they use small amounts of yarn.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Disclaimer: This pattern is a handout used in classes I teach. Pattern assumes knowledge of invisible stranding, or ladderback jaquard. I am not able to provide long-distance pattern support for using this technique. You may reference the Sockmatician’s video tutorial or Yslolds’s photo tutorial.

Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
These socks are knit at a tight gauge to give a firm, long wearing fabric. The yarn is heavy and the cuffs are long to keep your feet and ankles toasty on cold winter days.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
This blanket has diagonal garter stripes surrounded with a narrow garter stitch border. The pattern is simple to learn, so once you are established your mind will be free to bathe this baby in prayer.
