In order to make this a pendent, you will need a jewelry bail.

You just need a small amount of yarn in orange and green.

I also used light worsted weight/DK weight yarn for the embellishments.

Using a smaller hook and lighter yarn, gives you a smaller canoe.

I used about half a skein of the Loops & Threads Elegance and the skirt came to just above the knees of my Hearts4Hearts doll.

You also need a small amount of fiberfill or other stuffing material.

The same pattern can be used to make either a cloche or a beanie, depending on which brim you choose.

The size of your doll will depend on what size yarn and hook you use. Worked in sport weight yarn and using a 3.5 mm (size E) hook, the doll is about 8 inches tall. If you use heavier yarn and a comparable hook, the doll will be larger. However, make sure that you use a hook smaller than the size suggested, to get tight stitches.

You could also use this as an ornament for your Christmas tree.

You will need both a standard crochet hook and, for one day, a Tunisian hook.

Additional gauge information: The first time I did this pattern, I obtained gauge with an E-hook. The second time, I used an H-hook. Make certain you measure your gauge carefully, especially at the waistband.
