This set contains Ching Hat and Cowl. Both are knit in the round from the bottom up with a stranded colourwork pattern on the body and are suitable for DK weight yarns that block well. Pick out two, three, or more of your favourite colours and make your set as subdued or as bright and fun as you like. Choose from three sizes for the hat and two sizes for the cowl to fit everyone in the family, from child to large adult.
Every year, round about the middle of January, we all remember that winter is cold. Very cold. And that there can never be too many warm hats in the hat bin. Every year, round about the middle of January, I knit hat after hat after hat, trying to fill up that bin. This year, each of my little monkeys picked a yarn, described to me their perfect hat, and off I went.
A quick-to-knit bulky set in a simple knit/purl texture.
Sometimes, life brings remarkable people into your path. Some stay in your life forever, and some may only be part of your world temporarily, leaving you forever changed by having known them. When the time comes to say goodbye, how can you possibly express what they have meant to you? For a knitter, the answer is easy – by giving them your time, your work, a piece of yourself to carry with them. A hat to stay warm, a scarf to keep the wind out, or a blanket to snuggle under, each stitch infused with gratitude and love. Miss C is a collection of patterns conceived, designed, and knit to honour just such a person in my life.
Today, when I wake up in the morning, there is a rim of condensation on the window, and the air coming through it has a bite. I shiver a little, but I can feel a smile pulling at my lips. Finally, fall is coming. The knits that have sat in baskets through the long, muggy summer will be brought out today, and knitting can once again feel like a necessity, a laying in of warmth against the coming cold. For now, though, I pull on a cowl and head out for a walk in the luminously colourful forest.
