Knitting: Ankle Sock
In the Oregon town of Yachats (pronounced YA-hots), low tide is high time for beachcombing. As the tide recedes and the Yachats river meanders across a wide bed of sand, incredible patterns form. River waves ricochet off the banks, leaving echoes in the sand before meeting the crashing ocean. Sinuous shapes repeat and morph, filling the bay wit...

Do kids snowboard in Turkey? If they do, they might wear a hat like this, knit in a traditional Turkish stitch pattern. Three tassels at the top add a funky flair. Knitting: Scarf
Traveling vines run up the mirror-image ends of this petite scarf, meeting in ribbing that gently hugs the back of the wearer’s neck. A delicate lace edge provide the perfect finishing touch.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Columns of knits decorated with purl dots slither across these socks, like tracks left in the sand by a sidewinder snake. Columns of purls create ribbing that ensures a snug and comfy fit.
Knitting: Hats - Other
Vibrant flames dance upward from the rolled brim of this hat. Its dazzling stitch pattern serves as excellent practice for knitters new to stranded knitting: only two colors are used, always on one 20” circular needle, with no long floats and no tricky shaping.
Knitting: Cardigan
Feminine and fitted, simple and classic, this cardigan mixes a bit of lace into its cables. The body is worked from the bottom up in one piece, with shaping at the waist. The sleeves are worked from the top down, on stitches picked up from the armholes, with short rows shaping the sleeve caps. The end result? No sewing, and a flattering fit!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Lovely when worn draped over the shoulders or wrapped around the neck, the gently curved crescent wrap Emma features an updated version of an hierloom edging pattern. Based on garter stitch throughout, Emma looks good on both sides – so you don’t need to worry about wearing the wrap with the “wrong side” showing.
Knitting: Scarf
Jolie is a simple lace scarf, but oh so pretty to wear! It’s worked in three straightforward parts. First, a sawtooth lace edging is worked at one end of the scarf. Next, stitches are picked up from the edging, and the body of the scarf is worked. Finally, more edging is attached as it’s worked at the second end of the scarf.
