It’s time for another mystery sock! Join us in the Sock Knitters Anonymous group while we knit this sock in January. The holidays are behind us. Hopefully, it’s time to relax. This pattern should be a nice, relaxing knit and you might try something new too. I did! This sock will be released in 4 clues on January 1, 6, 15, and 20.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Half Hearted is a cuff down sock pattern. The cable and lace pattern is worked all around the leg, but tapers to stockinette on the foot. This pattern is available in two sizes of 54 and 70 total stitches. It is in charted form only.

Ucubes is a toe-up sock pattern that’s appropriate for males and females. It was initially designed for someone that does not like adventurous sock patterns or colors. It was designed to work with sport weight yarn, but testers also knit it in fingering weight.

Crooked Wheels is now available as a toe-up or cuff down pattern. Both versions are included when you buy this pattern. This pattern has a lot of cables on the instep/front of the leg. Because of all of those cables, there is only ribbing on the back of the leg to provide a comfortable fit.

Shark Teeth is a cuff down sock with teeth traveling around the leg on a twisted rib background. This pattern comes in sizes of 56, 64, and 72 stitches and is only in chart form.

Not Connected is a toe-up sock pattern with a gusset and patterned heel flap. There are sections of lace on every row. These little cells of lace are predictable and easy to memorize.

This pattern comes in two sizes of 56 and 64 stitches in charted form only. The stitch pattern is very stretchy. Most knitters could fit either size, depending on how they snug they like their fingerless mitts.

The name Complicated comes from one of my favorite movie quotes, “It’s complicated” from The Count of Monte Cristo. The sock itself is not that complicated, but does look a little challenging.

Pirate Danger is a toe-up sock with a little adventure. Twisted stitches form pirate-y motifs. What kind of pirate are you? So far, we’ve had murky brown pirates, sparkly pirates, romantic pirates, and girlie pirates. Pirate Danger is charted and comes in the sizes of 64 and 72 total stitches.

Purl and Zag is one of my simpler sock patterns suitable for variegated yarns and darker yarns. With lace and purl sections, this pattern is interesting to knit without getting lost in the colors.

Hel is now available outside of Gaia’s club. Hel was designed specially for Gaia’s Colours Fibre Arts Samhain 2009 club. Hel was the Norse goddess of the underworld. It is said that she was half alive and half dead. Each side of this sock represents a side of her. She has a skeleton side and a more graceful, flowing side.

Whirligig Cables is a bold sock pattern with cables that resemble whirligigs, trees, candy, or even broccoli. The stitch consists of very open lace and that are twisted with large cables.
