This shawl was inspired by the varied and detailed architecture of New Orleans. The center lace panel emulates the ornate wrought-iron railings of balconies, while the vertical eyelet rows mimic this zig-zag movement.

This shawl was designed for variegated yarns in mind. The garter stitch rows and simple elegant lace panel along the bottom will show of striping or pooling well. There is an option in the pattern to use up the entire yardage of your special skein by weighing the yarn, knitting until half of your yarn is used up, then beginning decreases.

This shawl was inspired by the architecture of the Eiffel Tower. It’s been years since I lived in France but the structure made an impression on me. You can see the criss-cross lattice lace bordered by rows of eyelets and separated with a panel of ridges meant to suggest the platform sections of the tower.
