This is the pattern I use when teaching my lantern workshops. It is only a small lantern, but once you understand how the increases and decreases work, you should be able to make any size or shape of lantern.

This pattern can be used for any size dog coat by adjusting yarn weight and hook size. For a small - medium size coat I use 8 ply yarn with a 3.5 mm hook. For a larger coat I use 12 ply yarn with a 5 mm hook. It just depends on the size of the dog you are making it for.

This pattern has been designed to fit Fluted Jars that you can purchase from Kmart. They are easily adaptable to other size jars.
