This is the crocheted sister to the knitted “Wandering Scarf”. The chart and row by row instructions are almost identical. Only the row numbering and symbol definitions vary.

I originally designed a crochet version of this scarf for an LOTR fan. A bucket-list roadtrip inspired me to try a knit version.

I was reading a Pendergast novel when the idea for this scarf occurred to me, monochrome bands of light and dark fleur di lis alternating with bands of light and dark XO’s. The colorful scrappy version is even more fun! I wanted the scarf to be drapey, so I used #7 needles with sport weight yarn.

I knit this scarf for my mom, “Queen of the Jigsaw Puzzles”!
