Crochet: Doily
This design has two versions. The pattern is written for the large version in a solid color. For the small, colored version change colors as desired on the first 5 rounds, change to your main color, and finish with a picot border in a contrasting color on Round 19. There is a note for each color change.

This motif was designed to be made in multiples and sewn together to make a pillow cover, placemat, or table runner. You will have to calculate the total yardage based on the number of motifs you want to make. 0ne motif weighs 8 g and uses 46 yards.

This design uses small amounts of two colors of size 10 crochet cotton. I used less than half a ball of Cebelia. The finished doily weighs only 13 g.

This is a well-written, beautiful oval doily to grace your home in the fall. It uses about 1/2 of a ball of Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 thread in each of two colors, and a smaller amount of the third color. Total weight of finished doily is 36 grams.

This is the first table runner I have designed. Because I wanted it to go quickly, I chose size 5 thread for my example. It also looks beautiful in size 10 thread. You will need to calculate the number of motifs needed for a size different from the pattern, or for a different thread.

This pattern was designed for a slow changing variegated thread, such as Alize Miss Batik. This kind of thread will not compete with the design. Of course, it can also be made with a single color thread for a more subtle look. The doily uses 22 g (1/2 ball) of Alize Miss Batik.

This is a pretty pineapple design that uses size 10 thread, about 300 yards total. I used about 2 balls of Lizbeth “Pineapple Parfait” and 1 ball of Lizbeth “Snow White.” (Finished doily weighs 48 g.)

It also looks good with a single variegated thread, but for that you will have to modify the changes between rounds a bit, to start the next rounds in the right places.
