Knitting: Scarf
The texture and beautiful hand-dyed color of Mountain Colors Merino Ribbon immediately caught my attention. Instantly I begin imagining an airy scarf that would celebrate that texture rather than obscuring it! I saw the Indian Cross stitch pattern in another design and began adapting the application of that stitch to create a more open fabric t...

The beautiful and unpredictably changing colorways of Classic Elite’s Liberty Wool Paints inspired me first to design a scarf to show off these fabulous colors, but a scarf simply wasn’t enough. I wanted to bring some of the same design elements to a hat! For a bit of extra shape memory to the edge, smaller needles are used in the ribbing secti...

This simple ribbed scarf is perfect for a beginner. The ruffles at either end will allow the knitter to add increases and decreases to their repertoire of stitches while gaining practice in switching from knit to purl and recognition of one over the other.
Knitting: Scarf
I designed this scarf as a teaching tool for my second and third level knitting classes at Fringe. It is designed to progress in level of difficulty, to build confidence, advance skills and increase stitch pattern recognition.

The instructions are written for the use of two colorways of the same yarn, however, it can easily be worked using a single colorway. In fact a friend of mine knit this using Plymouth Yarns Gina and it came out quite lovely! If knitting in two color...
