Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The Midwest gives us some brutally cold winters, and keeping warm is sometimes difficult. A doubled cuff on this hat was just one way to help a friend keep her ears
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Some years ago, I made the acquaintance of a young girl who was going through some rough stuff. She visited often, and we became good friends. I generally knit while we visited, and she was fascinated with the process, but always declined my offer to teach her.
Knitting: Earwarmers
While I was experimenting with this stitch pattern, it reminded me of quilting. The earwarmer will fit just about any head size, but can be adjusted easily. A hat using the same stitch pattern is listed separately.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I started working on this pattern back in 2013, just before my husband was diagnosed with cancer. I put it aside, and have picked it up periodically since he passed away, but when I came across it in a big box of PHDs (projects have done), I decided it was time to finish it.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Easy to knit, and makes a great last minute gift - it’s a good project for beginning knitters. I’ve been knitting garter brims for a lot of years - they’re easy to do, fit just about any size head, and are attractive to boot!
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
When you look at a field of dandelions, do you see a hundred weeds, or a thousand wishes? I see thousands and thousands of wishes!

Knitting: Drawstring Bag
These yarn keepers are especially handy for knitters who prefer to work while they walk. This one is especially appropriate if you need a handy gift for your Valentine! A few rows of seed stitch are worked above and below the ‘framed’ hearts.
Knitting: Market bag (slouchy)
The ‘Onion Bag’ is a little, knitted bag to contain treasure from the market - or, your garden - or, for a little one to carry around their own, special treasures. You don’t really need to use it just for onions - it just reminded me of those icky plastic ones we see in the store, so that’s what it became!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth, Cleaning - Other, Scrubber
The Ridge Line Spa Set is a simple garter lace knit that stretches and wraps itself around you, almost as if it’s a part of you. This set looks beautiful knitted in white or very light, romantic colors. It’s reversible, so there’s no right or wrong side.
Knitting: Cleaning - Other, Scrubber, Washcloth / Dishcloth
Why Ribbly? Well, I just like the looks of corrugated anything, but the garter ridges look very manly. (They like to spoil themselves, too, you know.) This set would look great done in a camo colorway or darker colors - faded denim, maybe?
Knitting: Cleaning - Other, Scrubber, Washcloth / Dishcloth
The texture in Cholla Spa Set reminded me of the Cholla (pronounced choy-ah) Cactus skeletons seen in the desert and used extensively by woodworkers to create their own special wonders. Using a natural or pastel colorway for this set really sets off the texture - there is a right and wrong side.
Knitting: Food Cozy, Cup / Mug
This Lunchbox Cozy Set to Knit includes two styles of fruit cozies to help keep apples safe from bruising, even when carried in a purse instead of a lunch bag – a tea caddy so those little envelopes don’t fall to the bottom of the bag, and get worn and crushed – an adjustable mug cozy that will fit any size mug, (and can even be used with a pin...
Knitting: Drawstring Bag
These yarn keepers (or, gift bags) are especially handy for knitters who prefer to work while they walk. HInt - if you knit this with a kitchen cotton, it makes a very nice, small reusable produce bag - think Zero-Waste!

These yarn keepers (or, gift bags - or, even a small, zero-waste, reusable produce bag) are especially handy for knitters who prefer to work while they walk. This little bags stretches easily enough to contain one of those HUGE commercial cakes of yarn.
