Pointedly is an off-kilter triangle shawl worked in simple stitches and finished with a zippy I-cord edging. Its easily memorized pattern and double-knitting weight yarn make it a great project to lug around to meetings or snuggle with on lazy weekends. (Truly a calm knit - I made this sample as I recovered from Covid in 2022.)

Benmiller Rendezvous mitts were designed for Shall We Knit’s retreat held in Benmiller, ON in November 2017, using the featured yarn that attendees received in their goodie bag. Janelle Martin and I were challenged to each design new pattern using the same yarn. She created the pretty “S Curve” buttoned cowl.

These cosy and warm mitts are made better with a chain wrist closure in a pretty accent colour.

Brainstorm is a hat full of good ideas, like integrated I-cords. This technique combines intarsia-like knitting with making I-cords. There are three integrated I-cords around the hat, that zig and zag like flashes of inspiration.

Pattern is for a pair of fitted fingerless gloves that are knit in the round, including some lovely button loop details at the wrist. Ellie has been updated as of July 2023 with fresh photos and expanded sizing.

This pattern uses a small amount of super-bulky yarn to make a cowl that’s so quick to knit you want to knit it again to try to “Beat the Clock”!

This pattern creates a completely reversible scarf that looks slightly different on each side. Choose your stripe colours to be simple or as loud as you want.

This pattern offers two options: a plain hat that works great in a patterned yarn, and a patterned hat that shows clear stitch definition in a plain yarn. Both hats are designed to fit with some drape that gives them a great, casual style.
