This is a beginner friendly amigurumi pattern. Gauge does not matter and yarn / Hook size is only a suggestion. You can use any size yarn to complete this pattern. Hook size should be chosen to result in tighter stitches to eliminate gaps. I would recommend using a hook 2 sizes below what the yarn calls for.
