Knitting: Mittens
Teeswater Mittens feature a simple stripe pattern which uses 4 different colours of yarn. The mittens require 125 yds(115 m) of worsted weight yarn, and 50 yds (46 m) each of 3 contrasting colours. This amount is sufficient for a Ladies large size. Separate instructions are written for each size, resulting in 9 pages of instructions.

Inspired by the light-hearted ditty from Newfoundland, and the folk-rock band of the same name. Another addition to The Teeswater Project, celebrating Canada’s 150th, one tea cosy at a time. I knit this using wool from Kamouraska, Québec, “le doux pays”.

Inspired by the mascot of the Carnaval de Québec, this jolly fellow sports a traditional ‘woven’ belt and a red voyageur’s tuque. The body is knit using a ‘pure laine québécoise’ produced by Biscotte et Cie., and the tuque uses Sugar Bush Yarns ‘Itty-Bitty’.
