Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This is a sport weight hat using a chart to knit it up. To increase the size of the hat, go up a needle size or yarn weight or both. There is a 25 stitch repeat in the chart.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
There’s always a use for dish cloth, whether it’s cleaning dishes or used for dusting. I always use them on my dishes first and when it gets to a point of no use, I start using it to clean the bathroom or anything else I need.
Knitting: Stitch pattern
This is a simple 4 row pattern that can be added to either a toe-up or a cuff down “vanilla” sock. Also, it can be easily adjusted to use as a dishcloth, afghan square or to a baby garment.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This is a cable-like pattern that doesn’t need a cable needle. It gives the knitter something more than a vanilla sock. It’s based on a 16 stitch repeat shown in the chart.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This is a textured dishcloth showing the honeycomb design. It’s a small project that allows you to try the design before moving to a larger project.
Knitting: Cowl
This pattern can be as small or large as you want. I like cowls that are small enough to fit under a winter jacket but it can be made long enough for the cool summer night.
Knitting: Stitch pattern
This stitch pattern can be incorporated into a stockinette stitch or other plain pattern.
Knitting: Component (stitch, edge) - Other
This is an insertion pattern that could be used for various knitted projects. Or with any weight of yarn if you used the appropriately sized needle for said yarn. The yarn used in the picture is Aran weight using 5 ½ mm needles. The sample shown is worked on a flat piece, worked back and forth.
Knitting: Stitch pattern
My favourite thing to do is add a pattern to a very plain item. A pair of vanilla socks is fine for one or two pairs of socks but it becomes boring after a while. Adding an insertion pattern to anything from a dishcloth to socks can give a flair to that simple pattern.
