This pattern can be used with any type of cotton yarn. I personally prefer Lily’s Sugar ‘n Cream or the basic Peaches ‘n Cream (Walmart brand) yarn.

Any yarn can be used for this pattern. The general rule is to make sure the piece is 16” long by at least 7” wide before piecing together. If using another weight yarn, use needles that are two sizes smaller than what the gauge calls for. For instance, if your yarn calls for size 9 needles, use size 7.
