Crochet: Scarf
This is a fun and quick project that will work with just about any yarn. Gauge is not essential, but it is helpful to keep pretty loose tension. Use a regular crochet hook to make short rows of Tunisian knit stitch for the smooth part around your neck. It flares out with simple mesh lace for some pizzaz on the ends.
Crochet: Applique / Embellishment
This little motif was inspired by the friendship hearts doily. It will work with any hook/yarn size. The pattern includes written instructions and charts.
Crochet: Mid-calf Socks
These cozy and stylish socks are constructed with an easy afterthought heel and, I suppose you could call it a ‘forethought’ toe. The use of slip stitches for the foot creates a very smooth fabric, different from socks made with single crochet. Crochet: Afghan block
I have been trying to teach my mom this wonderful and well known method of making a square, so I decided to write it out and chart it.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
A cute and versatile shawl pattern with many different options for size and style. This pattern also has charts!
Crochet: Scarf
This is a versatile pattern with many possibilities for different looks. The name comes from the wild Viburnum, Poke and Sumac berries I used to dye the yarn I used for this lacey little scarf.
Crochet: Decorative - Other
Stitch yourself a run of good luck with this cute little parade of shamrocks.
Crochet: Earflap Hat
This is a simple hat worked in the round with a flower motif at the top and awesome stash busting abilities! I used some sock yarns that I dyed naturally using plants. Start with two strands of fingering (sock) weight, add another strand in the middle, and then add some fuzzy alpaca at the end. This is a fun opportunity to play with color!
Crochet: Brimmed Hat
The Crochet Liberation Front awarded me the Hookalicious award for this hat. I am humbled by the honor!
Crochet: Applique / Embellishment
This is a pattern for a gingko leaf that I made when I was just learning to crochet. I used it for my avatar for a while and I got some inquiries about it, so I decided to write it up for you all.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This hat was an exploration of slip stitch. Most of the hat is slip stitch in the front loop only in rounds. I love the smooth solid, but lightweight fabric this stitch produces. I also like the roll brim that results.
