Knitting: Mittens
This pattern was originally written for the Not-So-Scary Mittens class that Laurie and Bree teach at StevenBe in Minneapolis, MN. It has differentiated thumb gussets for each hand, and a simple, textured pattern repeat on the back that gives it a little something extra. The thick yarn means the mittens knit up quickly and keep hands toasty warm.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This stranded colorwork hat was designed as a love note for my daughter. It’s message, knit in Morse code, says, “Make good choices, learn lots, and be a good friend. I will love you forever, no matter what. XOXO, Mom.” The background color and code color change as you move up the hat to create a three color fade effect.
