Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This is a fun, quick and easy knit -- great for last-minute gifts! The slipped stitches look great with a variegated yarn, and the jellybean-like texture is so cozy.
Crochet: Boot Cuffs / Toppers
A quick and easy project, great for using leftover yarn, last-minute gifts, stocking stuffers or just plain instant gratification. More experienced crocheters will find them easy to whip up in a couple of hours.
Crochet: Softies - Other
I’ve finally pieced together a rough pattern from the random pages of notes I took while winging this design. It’s not particularly methodical, and hasn’t been tested -- it’s more of a set of row-by-row instructions than an actual “pattern” per se. In any case, this is how I did it, so brave MSTie yarnies should, with some luck, patience, sweat...
Crochet: Hats - Other
This hood features cute rat (or mouse) ears -- a pun on “hooded rats,” or fancy rats with hood-like markings on their head and shoulders. As a rat lover, I couldn’t resist.
Crochet: Cowl
Squirrel Sleep is made using the same cluster stitch as my Mossbark hat -- you could easily make a co-ordinating set to snuggle up against the cold. The colours of this thick and cozy cowl remind me of a red squirrel all curled up in her nest on a frigid day, hence the pattern name. When tucked away inside the hood, I feel the same way!
Crochet: Earflap Hat
A free chunky toque pattern designed to go with my Accordionist neckwarmer!
Crochet: Fingerless Gloves
These fingerless mitts are meant to show off two complementary yarns, and feature a squishy double-stranded section to really make them pop! The swirling colours in my example remind me of cream blending slowly into your coffee cup -- tasty!
Crochet: Cowl
A stretchy cowl that’s meant to fit snugly to your face and neck for those chilly days when you want a face- and neck-warmer! The pattern is quick and easy, and the multi-directional ribbing creates some nice visual interest as well as feeling squishy and wonderful.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
A light, lacy, soft, snuggly, textured bottom-up v-shaped shawl that can be worn as a wrap or as a scarf. I named it “Ice Wine” because the bobble texture reminds me of little grapes (especially in the beautiful “Mauve” yarn pictured) and the “Cool Gray” edging is reminiscent of little icicles hanging off! And it’s a far prettier name than “Gra...
