I purchased my Ravelry logo tote at the Ravelry Party in Columbia during Maryland Sheep and Wool 08. I am not usually a tote bag person, but I’m a fan of this one. The soft canvas (not an oxymoron - I promise!) and convenient straps make this usable both as a project bag and as a grocery store bag.

If you’re a tote bag person, I probably don’t need to sell you on this, but if you’re not a tote bag person, neither am I, and I love it! Plus, for added awesomeness, Ravelry buttons fit nicely on the front of the bag, making it easy to show your loyalty to ravelry while showing off your username!

The only way I could like this bag more, is if it’d occurred to me to get Jess & Casey & Mary Heather to sign it…I’ll do that next event. =]

I’ll give some dimensions (both literal and useful…and some maybe less useful) for my tote.

The pocket between the two straps: 7” wide 6.5” tall. Can easily hold around 500 pages worth of paper back book. (Tested, for me, with two seperate books.) Note: there is only a pocket on the front, the side with the lovely Ravelry logo.
bag bottom: 6” on the short sides, 12” on the long sides. Because of it’s construction, it can easily hold things that don’t follow those exact dimentions.
straps: ~27.5” long - there are two of them. They can be used either in a traditional ‘tote’ way of holding in your hands, or can be used hanging over (my) shoulders. When hanging over shoulders, the top of the bag hits mid-boob.
Bag height: 13” tall. This bag can hold 13 skeins of Rowan Summer tweed and 5 skeins of Jojoland Melody with room to spare.
This bag can also hold two bags of flour, 6 apples, and a box of instant oatmeal, while still being carry able.
The fabric used for the tote is very thick canvas, and it’s more sturdy than I think of when I think of canvas tote bags. The interior seams are covered with binding tape, to make them extra sturdy, but, my binding tape is fraying, so I might cover it with dont-fray-anymore-stuff.
The bag tells me it is 100% cotton and made in china, via a nice satin-y label on the side.
For me, the bag colors were pretty true to the image on the site, though of course your monitor may vary.

The description notes that the colors have been cranked up a notch. The pinks of the logo are pretty true to what I see on the screen, but the straps are more of a lime green than the mint green that I see on the screen. I attached my Bob and Logo pins to the straps for now, and they look adorable.

There’s an outside pocket that would be good for tossing in a few smaller notions. It’s definitely big enough for a few small projects, a couple of medium projects, or one large project.

I’m hoping to get it autographed at Knitters Connection! :)

Lamb said it all, but I still want to say I love it. And I am not a loud color lover, but the bright green fits this tote.

Lamb described the bag perfectly. The bag is roomy without being too big. The lime green straps and bottom are colorful without being overwhelming.

The front pocket is just the right size for your folded up veggie tote bag, so you have a spare for when you find more yarn you just have to have!

I received my Ravelry Tote yesterday and I love it. Very roomy and very pretty colors. Now I have to start shopping for yarn to fill it…

I received my Ravelry tote bag today and it’s great. It’s very similar to the one that I use from my LYS. The lime green and pink are adorable colors on it. I agree that the colors are close to the website. The tote bag is very roomy. My one issue with the bag is the lack of a snap button. A snap button on this bag would be out of this world, but I’m going to add one myself. Otherwise, such an awesome bag and will contain lots and lots of projects in it.

It’s functional, it’s sturdy, the colors and materials are AWESOME, and I love it a lot. I take it to every knitting group I go to. The best thing about this tote, though, is all the attention you get when you’ve got it! I got mine at a Sticks and Stitches event in Columbus, and every time someone sees me with it, I get “OMG, YOU’RE THAT GUY!” Yay for Ravelry making me a micro-celebrity!

Received my tote bag today and I have to agree with everyone else.

It’s really roomy and I love the lime green/pink combo!

Was really impressed that it only took five days to get the UK!

Love tote! Great colors, well made, good handle length, and perfect size for hauling knitting project & gear. Printing seems execellent quality. May use for shopping bag too.

I love this bag! I have used it every day since I got it. It is big enough to hold a few projects. The thing I love most is that it is really soft for a canvas bag…maybe soft is not the right word…hmmmm…it’s supple-ey!

I won my tote in the Bobby Awards (thanks so much!). It is very roomy, and if I want it to be a more compact tote, I can fold the ends in and safety pin them, making it expandable! The lime is very lime, but plays nicely against the ravelry logo. It is sturdy, and so far seems to resist dirt. Overall, I am very pleased to own and use the tote.

Received my Rav logo tote a couple weeks ago (or so)…guess I was one of the lucky ones that was fast with the order button….I really love the tote..not a real big fan of totes, per se..but this one is great..not too big and the straps are just the right length to carry over the shoulder….I have my bob pin attached to the strap..so he goes along…thanks

Sorry guys! - I removed some of the “when will it be available?” comments so that this page is all reviews. Well, except for this post. Doh!

Knittinggoo - I posted a list of each store item’s country/place of origin here:
http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/ravelry-store-chatter/204976/26-50#39

Many (most?) of our items are made in the US but these bags are not.

Just got my tote! Smaller than I had imagined, but super all the same. The green of the handles and bottom were more washed out than the photo indicated on my monitor. I would love to see it in a more saturated lime green. Regardless, I do love my tote.

Received my tote today and I absolutely love it! It is roomy and sturdy. The colors (for me anyway) were pretty true to the colors that are in the picture. I know that all monitors are different though, so that may not hold true for everyone.

I’m glad I was finally able to get one, and it was well worth the wait!

lamb said it all so well. What I wanted to add is the speed of delivery--I live in the Netherlands and while our domestic post is super fast, “importing” is a nightmare. But my tote arrived in just six days from the U.S. and was properly packaged and labeled so I didn’t get saddled with ridiculous tax or customs (which happens with other merchants). A big, wet, sloppy thank you to Ravelry for delivering the goods …. literally!

I just got my Ravelry logo tote! I ordered it Tuesday night and was really delighted to receive it so quickly. As others have commented, the canvas is really softer than most canvas bags, so it feels worn in already. This is really a great project bag; big enough for almost any project, with room to spare for other things as well, even more than 1 project.

I would love a pocket inside as well as out, but I guess I’m just greedy. And a snap or other closure would be great. Otherwise, I Love It, and can’t wait for the chance to take it on an outing.

I love, love, love my tote. I agree with the others that the canvas is not stiff and that the green is bright without being overwhelming. It’s a nice size and I can’t wait to take it along with a project in it :-)

lamb’s review was pretty spot-on about the bag overall - I just received mine today and used it when I went shpping at Target. It’s not as big as I thought (but still big) and it holds A LOT!!! I was able to stuff my purchase which consisted of:

  1. a queen-size sheet set (flat,fitted, 2 pillow cases)
  2. 2 additional packs of pillowcases (4 total)
  3. 500-pk of Qtips
  4. monster-size bottle of Tums
  5. Industrial-sized bottle of Advil
  6. a 2’x3’ pop-up hamper, folded flat, packaged
  7. a 2’x4’ dorm laundry tote, folded flat, packaged
  8. assorted boxes of OTC drugs
  9. box of haircolor
  10. about a dozen miscellaneous items ranging from lip gloss to packs of gum
  11. 4 rolls of quarters
  12. my wallet
  13. my cell phone
  14. 16 oz. bottle of water

The checkout girl @ Target was pretty impressed!

(and yes, I did buy 6 pillowcases all together. We have a lot of pillows LOL)

The green of the bag is not as bright as I thought, but it is still cute.

I love love love love this tote. Must. Buy. More. LOL

this is a great big bag. It is very large which is perfect for knitting sweaters. Also it’s not too florecent to be annoying, I was very happy with the colors in person. It’s more of a lime green and then the pink-ish is more mauve or something. It’s a great tote for carrying your knitting and other various items.

I am so impressed with this bag - I’m using it as a project bag, and it’s really roomy, with the front pocket large enough to hold my notions. Plus, the colours are fab, handles long enough to sling over your shoulder - and I’ve already had someone on the tube tap my shoulder and say “oh… you’re a knitter then?”

And I have to say, was really pleased with the shipping time from the US - so any other UK ravelers, it’s realy quick to received things from the US via Rav…

I received my tote yesterday…and like everyone else…I LOVE IT!

I loaded it up with all my knitting stuff and went to my weekly knitting at Barnes & Noble. A lady stopped me as soon as I walked in the door and said, “WOW! You got one of the Ravelry totes! I love it…I am on Ravelry too…’. It got the conversation going about Ravelry AND got two people connected who never knew each other before! It can’t get any better than that!

I also showed it off to my knitting group who ooooheed and aaahhhed! Look forward to more Ravelry stuff…especially with Bob or the cute little critters!

I received the tote two business days after I submitted my order. That was very quick - I appreciate that.

I really like the length of the straps - long enough for me to use it over my shoulders (and I’m a big girl!) And I like that it is roomy enough for a larger project or lots of yarn when I’m shopping!

I’m looking forward to filling it at Rhinebeck!

I ordered my bag (and button pack) on thursday the 15th and received today so excited. it’s this soft canvas. it sounds odd, I know, but if you’ve ever felt a regular canvas bag, you know that it’s sort of hard and stiff. it’s still got the canvas texture, but it’s pretty floppy and I love it. I also found that while the ravelry logo was pretty true to the color on my monitor, the handles are a bit lighter lime/spring green. which i still adore. there aren’t any action shots, how exactly do you go about submitting one of those? I’ll do it. I think it’d be helpful for others to see it on an actual body. :)

I love this bag. I picked it up last year at Stitches west. I use it for everything! From carrying my knitting/crocheting projects to holding all my books. It’s a great size to fit everything comfortably in. What more can I say I love my tote bag.

I do not think the picture does it great justice with the actual color, but it is close. They ship quickly as well, I left for vacation the day I ordered it, and came back three days later and it was here. Very cute, and now all of my current WIP’s are in there waiting to be finished. Also it is very roomy…..hence the amount of projects in there :)

Mine has now officially been around the world. Shipped from US used for 9 months in UK\Spain\France … then took it on plane from UK to KL, from KL to Sydney, Sydney to Brisbane … all over Queensland and then back to UK via Singapore. Love it … may have to get another just in case its globe trotting makes it too valuable to wear it out.

Mine came yesterday. Everything was neatly packaged and arrived quickly and in excellent condition. It is very roomy and the outside pocket is deep enough for a book. Fabric is soft but not flimsy. Colors are true and rich not to bright just enough. I added my bob pin and ravelry logo pin to the straps. Hope you get yours soon!
