Knitting: Beret, Tam
This is a basic beret that’s a great use for your DK weight handspun or a commercial DK weight yarn. Two different styles of decreases are shown for a more or less defined style of decrease. The pattern notes discuss the pros and cons of yarns having considerable drape versus those with a crisper finish.
Knitting: Boot Cuffs / Toppers
This decorative boot topper was inspired by a glove in a Swedish museum. It combines a simple pattern knit with two colors in the round and integrates a narrow band of inkle as decoration. A ribbon or lucet braid also could be used. Two contrasting colors are used for fringes.
Knitting: Cowl
This pattern has 3 versions based on different yarns and stitch patterns. It is very flexible, and generally takes only 1 skein of Worsted wool/alpaca/angora blend with 200+ yards/skein. It is a good format for experimentation and is a quick knit.
Knitting: Cowl
This smart and feminine cowl in three versions is worked top down. Establish your gauge with the main body pattern (Woven Diagonal Herringbone). It is meant to be worn close to the neck (not tight) and flare out over the upper chest under your coat.
Knitting: Scarf, Shawl / Wrap
This crescent-shaped shawl or scarf is worked bottom up with a shell lace border in a light, sparkly color of Blue Heron RTC sport-weight yarn, and a contrasting Boboli Lace. The inspiration is the Bermudiana flower (the official flower of Bermuda) as well as Bermuda’s pristine and lovely beaches.
Knitting: Ankle Sock
A toe-up sock with a stretchy toe and pretty heel. This is easy to size up or down to fit your foot as necessary. However, the style has lots of ease, so try it on as you knit before adding or deleting stitches.
Knitting: Feet / Legs - Other, Boot Cuffs / Toppers
Soft and luxurious boot topper for someone special. Worked in simple knit/purl and yarn-over stitches. Pattern can be sized up by casting on 8 stitches to the ribbing. This will increase the cuff size for one more lace repeat. Follow all other directions as written.
Knitting: Feet / Legs - Other, Boot Cuffs / Toppers
Baby-rib cabled boot topper. An easy, quick knit that is particularly lovely in a soft angora/wool blend like “Lush.” Very stretchy, so will work with a variety of Aran-weight yarns.
