Crochet: Doily
This square doily was fun to create. When I was done I thought the corners looked like Lillies, then I thought it looked like a horn and a friend told me the horn was a trumpet. I googled descriptive words for trumpet. What popped up was a flower called Trumpet Vine. So I guess we were both on the right track with the lily look and horn. So I c...

This pattern I have designed and named in honor of my Aunt Dolly that passed away in Nov. 2018. I have made many doilies for her over the years and her favorite was with pineapples. Her given name is Darlys (dar-liss). She was the 12th born of 18 children. Her older sisters thought of her as their dolly when she was born, and that’s how the nam...

This is a somewhat oval shaped doily consisting of 15 rounds. In March and May of 2018 I became a great aunt to two beautiful little nieces. This doily originally was going to be bigger, but when I got to the point I eventually ended it at I felt like it looked like a Tiara on both sides. So I decided Twin Tiara’s for two beautiful little girls...

I named this pattern for my best friend Diana. I was at her home helping her out for 5 weeks when she broke her shoulder. After it was completed I put on a round accent table at end of her sofa. She told me that It really needed to stay there because it was born for it. I didn’t leave it then, but I did make one in her favorite color. I have no...

I designed this pattern in rounds that would make it easy to change colors on different sections. Mandala like is what I had in mind. I used and changed stitches throughout and Potpourri came to my mind. So the name became Potpourri of Changes.

This is my first triangle pattern that actually kept it’s triangle shape as my hook moved. I have been close a couple times but as my hook flows, ( I go where it goes) it tends to change shape. This has become one of my favorite designs. I love the shape that it kept.
Crochet: Doily
This pattern took shape as my hook moved. I thought it would be round, but started to take on bursting points as I went along. A friend told me as I was showing her progress that it looked like a planet in the center. I thought the points looked like rays bursting out. Therefore the name became Bursting Planet.

This is my second pattern named for a great niece born in May, 2018. Her name is Legacy. The stitches were everchanging just as she will be as she grows. Hence the name Legacy Everchanging. I made the first using a 1.75mm hook with #10 thread. It took approx. 350 yds, and is 22 1/2” x 22”.

This pattern was designed for the first of two great nieces born this year. This is Cheryl’s Arrival, Whirlwind in Motion. For my nephew and niece that went thru ten years of trying to have a baby, and once it happened it was a whirlwind. She was born in March of 2018. It is a square, with layered petal shaped fan blades in corners. It took me ...
Crochet: Doily
My aunt asked if I could make her up some sort of “spiderweb” type doily for her Halloween party. So I came up with this design that works up very quickly. It measures approx. 26” using a 1.5 mm hook and #10 thread. Approx 150 yards.

This is a pattern of Pineapples made a little differently. I have made this with an alternate ending. Original ending finished size approx. 24”. With the alternate ending size was approx. 28”. Both took less than one ball of Aunt Lydia’s #10 thread using a 1.5 mm hook.
Crochet: Doily
This is my first spiral pattern. It is approx. 17” across with a 1.5mm hook. I do not crochet tight so if you are someone that crochets tight it may be smaller at the end. You could also bump up to a 1.75mm hook if that is the case. I did not try one with bigger hook yet though. Any #10 thread will work. Pick your favorite brand. I used approx....

The name of my second design is “Sweet Kristi” Pineapple doily. This was named for Kristi-Drew Zemas. I have tested patterns for Kristi for a couple of years now and always have same thing in common. The Pineapple. With her prompting to try it out I finally decided to created round by round doily. I have done several filet pieces for family and...
