I read somewhere that classic baby blankets had a center square surrounded by a lace pattern. This blanket was designed to be pretty easy for my mother-in-law to knit for some great-nephews and nieces. The easiest possible lace pattern combined with garter stitch, seed stitch, and moss stitch.
