Knitting: Cowl
This pattern was designed for the Carolina Fiber Fest 2024 Craft-A-Long.
Crochet: Cowl
Pattern shown in Unplanned Peacock Sock, Berry Pie color way.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The ribbed brim flows into the cable pattern on the body of this hat. Pattern is written and fully charted for one size that easily stretches to fit most heads. There are 2 options in the pattern. In Option A (shown in tweedy red), the cables twist toward each other; in Option B (shown in Blue), cables twist away from each other.
Knitting: Cardigan
This pattern is knit bottom-up. The only seams are under the arms. Bottom ruffle is worked as you knit. Sleeve and neck ruffles are worked separately, then joined to main fabric by working sts together from ruffle and sleeve or neck. The raglan decreases are worked on WS rows, so familiarity with purl side decreases is essential (p2tog and ssp.)
Knitting: Animal Toy
Ollie is worked all in one piece with no sewing, beginning at the bottom of the head. The head has purl ridges where you will later pick up sts to work the tentacles, neck skirt, and blanket. A link to a video tutorial is included.
Knitting: Vest
A cottony vest is the perfect wardrobe addition for cool summer evenings or dew-y mornings. The Currituck vest, featuring a pattern stitch that simulates cool rippling waves on a beach or lake, adds the perfect degree of light-weight warmth for summer. The lower vents on each side give the vest a casual flair, yet the vest is dressy enough for ...
Knitting: Pullover
The inspiration for this pattern was born of the frustration of pulling tight necklines over toddler heads. The laced up center provides the extra ease needed to fit over the largest of heads, and the casual style is suitable for bigger kids, too. Shown here for a boy, this pattern would be fun for girls, too–pick a contrasting color with a lit...

Knitting: Table Runner
Union Table Runner is a symmetrical table runner with optional beads worked into the end sections. One end section is worked, then set aside. The second end section and center section are then worked and the 2 pieces are grafted together. Instructions for grafting are included because the “normal” technique is modified to create a garter ridge ...

Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
Yadkin, an elongated semi-circular shawl, is worked from neck edge to bottom, then the edging is added along the outer arch. The final trim is worked along the sides of the edging and across the beginning chain.
Knitting: Scarf
I received a photo with the caption “Can you make this?” from a grad student and this design (inspired by the photo, but certainly not a copy!) is the result.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
Onslow, a lightweight shawl, is worked from bottom tip to top edge, then edged on the 2 short sides of the triangle. To finish,
Knitting: Animal Toy
Meet Milton. Is he a Moose or a Reindeer? He could be an Elk, too. You choose!
Crochet: Pillow / Cushion
This pillow uses the join-as-you-go technique, so there is no sewing at all! Motifs work up quickly, then open spaces on the front and back are filled with single crochet-covered curtain rings, also joined to the Motifs as worked. (Curtain rings are available at fabric/craft stores. Photographed model was made with rings purchased at JoAnn’s.)
Crochet: Decorative - Other, Containers
Dress up a Mason jar for a friend or family member with one of these covers! They work up quickly with only small amounts of thread. For a quick gift, fill the jar with candy, a tea or hot chocolate blend, or even a cookie mix. The photographed models are shown in Valentine colors, but you can mix and match to make your cover for any season or ...
Knitting: Convertible Gloves
When you need to fiddle with keys, thumb through mail, snap a picture, answer a cell phone, or clip a dog leash, the Pop Tops allow fingers to be free without removing the whole mitten.
Knitting: Dress
Hugs and kisses cables adorn the skirt of this fun dress for little girls.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
The Delano Shawl features a lattice work body that is edged in two rows of Puff Stitches followed by an outer ruffle. If you prefer, 3-dc Clusters can be substituted for the Puff Sts. The ruffle consists of rows of chain spaces, interspersed with increases to add fullness.
Crochet: Backpack
Skills Required: Basic crochet stitches (ch, slip st, sc, dc, tr), working in rounds and rows.
Knitting: Onesies
This one-piece outfit, sized for newborn, 6 months, and 12 months, is knit in one piece from the bottom. It is a quick knit that makes a great shower gift for a special little one. Stockinette stitch on the lower body allows plenty of diaper room and the ribbed yoke naturally shapes the outfit around the chest. Snaps at the shoulders and crotch...
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl is crocheted in one piece beginning at the center top and working out to the leaf edging.
Knitting: Earflap Hat
One set of numbers is given, but tighter gauge (16 sts = 4” in St st) results in smaller size.
Knitting: Brimmed Hat
You don’t have to be a mother to enjoy this Mother’s Day Hat! This hat was named for my ever-gardening mother who wisely never heads out the door without her trusty sun protection.

Knitting: Cozy - Other
These cute little plastic egg covers knit up very quickly and are a great stash buster. I used eggs purchased at Hobby Lobby, labeled “Large”, but they are 3” tall and measure 7” around the egg seam. Since these use only 75-80 yards of yarn, check your stash for leftover worsted/medium yarn first - anything that will knit tightly at 6 sts/in (s...
Knitting: Skirt, Sleeveless Top
From youth sports to the pros, cheerleaders are a part of the game! Team Spirit can be knit for little girls in sizes 2-7 to help them cheer their favorite team on to victory.
Crochet: Scarf
Sensational Spirals is a fun little scarf intended to dress up an everyday outfit and is perfect for year-round wear. It crochets up quickly using only basic stitches. The main portion is crocheted flat, then the ends are worked in rounds, creating a gathered effect just above the jaunty tassels. Shown here in pastel cotton as a warm weather ac...
Knitting: Scarf
Les Feuilles Blanche is an elegant cross between an ascot and a scarf. It can be worn with the leaves pointing to the right or to the left - your choice!
Knitting: Convertible Gloves
These are fun convertible mittens in worsted/medium weight yarn. Hopefully, a child’s ability to flip open the “Pop Top” to expose their fingers will keep them from taking off mittens and losing them.
Knitting: Gloves
This is a basic glove pattern to work using sock yarn. It’s all Stockinette Stitch, so choose a colorful yarn for a fun pair of gloves!
Knitting: Belt
This is a one-skein quick project designed to add a little flair to an outfit. If you need something to wrap around an oversized shirt or add a little bit of bling to a pair of jeans, this is it! By nature, the center garter stitches of this design will stretch, however the outer i-cord edging prevents too much over-stretching. The beauty of a ...
Knitting: Headwear - Other
This is a super quick project and great way to use up odds and ends of scrap yarns and any beads or shank-back buttons you may have. They are perfect for little girls (or even little dogs)! Simply put, this is working a 3 or 4 stitch i-cord around a pony tail holder. This is more of a trick or technique than a pattern.
Knitting: Wristlet
Additional materials: 7” (18 cm) zipper to match yarn.
