Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Fashionable, quick-to-knit hat for the upcoming cold weather – can be knit in 2 hours - at least by me. Use a super bulky yarn.
Knitting: Vest
Starts as one piece and then at armhole shaping, the fronts are done separately from the back. Buttonband is knit at the same time as the main part. Only the front is cabled; the back is done in stockinette stitch.
Knitting: Cardigan
This is a fun little lacy cardigan for toddlers. Comes in sizes 1, 2 and 3 years old. Bottom portion is done in a zig-zag lacy pattern while the upper part is done in with little eyelets which resemble polka-dots. The sleeves also begin with zig-zag lacy pattern and follow with polka-dots. The collar is rounded and done in garter stitch, as is ...
Knitting: Vest
This wrap around vest for toddlers is knit in one piece with a not very complicated bow-like stitch. The neck edge is gradually decreased, each side worked in reverse but exactly the same. Four ties, one set on the inside and one set on the outside, are also knit. The armhole and neck edges are garter stitched when vest is knit.
Knitting: Vest
Wrap vest for 6-9 month little baby girls. Knit in one piece with picked up edges around lapel and neck edges and also around armholes. Made up in a simple 6-row repeat lace pattern. Does require shoulder seams to be sewn. Four ties knit and attached after project is completed.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Designed this hat because I wanted a nice warm hat that wouldn’t take very long to knit. It fits so well. I chose a bulky yarn and a good sized needle and it took me 2-3 hours to complete. It involves 2/2 cables and 2/1 cable work. Crown lays flat (don’t like hats that pucker). Edge ribbing is 1/1 and done with the smaller needle. Instructions ...
Knitting: Decorative - Other
Cabled knit topiary is knit in the round for top globe and then the bottom one is knit flat and seamed up. Poles are wrapped with brown ribbon. One skein is all it took for two topiaries. I have mine sitting in top soil, then covered with small pea gravel and then big pine cones on top.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
Little baby blanket to cover that small one while in the car seat or in the stroller. Blanket can be made bigger by adding rows and stitches alongside the teddy’s face. Blanket edges done in seed stitch and the rest in stockinette and reverse stockinette. Selvedge edge employed with instructions given. Written instructions given, as well as a c...
Knitting: Baby Blanket
Little bunnies hopping around in the forest; what could be a cuter theme? Good size reversible baby blanket for over a stroller or car seat to feel snuggly warm. It’s made with Berocco Comfort yarn which is very washable and durable and soft! I made mine out of brown because it’s like a forest. The border has a channel knit in to place the jacq...
Knitting: Dress
A-shaped mini-dress. Worked from the bottom up in 5 different lace stitches. Nice monk’s cord worked into final stitch pattern. Stitch pattern presented in chart form.
Knitting: Hats - Other
Smart looking hat made with Noro yarn but any multicolored wool yarn will work. Hat is worked from side to side around and then grafted together. Stitches are picked up and bottom rim is knit. It’s important to use the selvedge edge throughout.
Knitting: Pullover
Long raglan sweater, meant to be worn with leggings. Stitch pattern combined seed stitch and lace work. Quite a bit of stretch to this pattern and so the size 10 might fit a size 12 girl, as the pattern was made in a size 8 for a 9-year-old girl---but she is pretty slim. Bottom edge and sleeves begin with 2 x 2 ribbing. This is a pieced raglan ...
Knitting: Sleeveless Top
Fast to knit, can be done in a weekend. This tank has a v-neck and is flared at the bottom because of its A-shape styling, with seams on the front and back, versus seams on the sides. It is knit on big needles, with a bulky, stretchy yarn and fits sizes XS to M.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
This is a cute, small baby blanket with ladybugs knitted in. It can be made larger by repeating the motif 4 times across and 4 times up. Instructions include written directions and also a chart. The small size requires 3 skeins but I only used about a fourth of the 3 skein. There is a little bit of cabling at the bottom to round out the wings b...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This is a good sized shawl with cascading leaf pattern. It’s big enough to go around your shoulders and down the front. This pattern also includes instructions for making a scarf and baby blanket with the same leaf work!
Knitting: Scarf
My husband picked out the stitch pattern and I think he chose wisely because it looks nice and was easy. The stitch is in the middle of the scarf with a garter-stich border. The pattern includes a chart and also written out, row by row, instructions. Instructions include how to do the selvedge edge, which make the edges so beautiful!
Knitting: Earflap Hat
Here’s a super cute hat for the little ones in your life. Make it stripey like I did, using some of my stash, or just do it up in one solid color. The top of the hat turns into a short I-cord, which is tied into a little knot but you could, of course, skip this part and just weave your yarn through the last 8 stitches and tie off like you do wi...
Knitting: Cardigan
This cardigan is uneven in front, made up of large panels of lace of a diamond pattern. The back is done in stockinette stitch. The sleeves are 3/4, with the diamond lace pattern continued at the bottom edge. The cardigan has a hemmed edge all the way around (see picture).
Knitting: Baby Blanket
Great little lap or baby blanket and looks great on either side! The blanket is knit in stockinette and reverse stockinette for the background.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This is a loose fitting, slouchy hat that incorporates the seed stitch and the herringbone stitch. Starts with a 1 x 1 ribbing. Knits up fast with this size needle and this weight of yarn. Pattern includes written instructions and a chart.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
This is a beautiful baby blanket with lacey heart pattern. The blanket size is 26” x 29”. It has a garter stitch edge. Pattern is knit according to a chart but also has written out instructions for each row of the lace.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
Starts on the edge with a lace pattern. Written directions for each round are given along with a chart. Knit with circular and double pointed needles. Picture tutorials are given on how to do the embroidered flowers. Knits up quickly and was fun. Could be embroidered with a more Christmasy theme.
Knitting: Hanging Ornament
Each stocking, mitten and hat is knit flat and then seamed; numbered for each day up until Christmas. Each stocking, hat and mitten is about 2 inches by 3 inches and the I-cord is about 6 1/2 feet long, great for draping across the mantle or on the tree! Numbers are embroidered using the stem stitch. Mittens, stockings and hats are done in fair...
Knitting: Cardigan
Flattering bell-shaped lacy sweater just in time for fall with falling birch leaves. Elegant and comfortable: nice. Leaves on the front and the back and also one column down the sleeve.
Knitting: Cardigan
This is a gorgeous sweater, made with a fairly bulky yarn, so it knits up fast! You’ll be making a lot of these adorable sweaters for the little girls in your life.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Hat is knit up fast with this bulky yarn and in the round with circular needles. Great, fashionable and quick project!
Knitting: Cardigan
This little sweater starts on the back lower edge and works its way up, over the shoulders and then each front side is done separately - all in one piece!!!
Knitting: Cardigan
Top down fair isle cardigan for little girls. Pattern includes diagrams. Button band and neck edge knitted after sweater is done. Also includes tips for selvedge edge and gauging yarn necessary. Pattern available in 1, 2 and 3 year sizes.
Knitting: Cardigan
Top down cardigan for a little girl with embroidery on the bodice, seed stitch collar and crocheted edge. Below the bodice, you actually bind off and then pick up those stitches for that braided look.
Knitting: Pullover
I only had three skeins of this yarn and wanted a quick and easy baby sweater that used it all up. This pattern does not require double-pointed for the sleeves because you knit the sleeves flat and then proceed with the circular needles down for the body allowing you to use all of the yarn. I illustrate how to have just enough yarn, how to make...
Knitting: Cardigan
Fairly easy lacy cardigan with short sleeves - great for the spring and summer. Lace consists of an 8 row repeat diamond pattern, which is easy to memorize after a short time. Knit straight up and notched for the armholes, with some increasing on the set-in sleeves. Lace accommodates curves very well and that’s why it can be knit straight up an...
Knitting: Cardigan
Using a provisional cast on with pictures to help, this easy top down sweater uses no double point needles for the sleeves. Once the raglan shaping is completed, the sleeves are knit flat. Yes, sewing a seam is necessary but the fact that you knit the sleeves flat goes so much faster than with double pointed needles. I recommend the selvedge st...
Crochet: Applique / Embellishment
These flowers are crocheted and then sewn onto the jeans after opening up the side seams. The use of interfacing keeps the denim from fraying after the fabric is cut. Make sure you have some good, sharp scissors. This project was fun to make and didn’t take very long. I can’t wait until the weather warms up and I can wear these out and about!
Knitting: Toys and Hobbies - Other
A felted project for kids about 5” tall with a zippered back for putting stuff in. The body and nose is knitted flat but the legs and arms as I-cords. You’ll need to know how to do a single crochet for around the ears. Some hand-sewing is needed to put in the zipper and lining. I’m willing to do the embroidery of the eyes, zipper and lining for...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Knit this cascading hearts shawl for someone you love or just because you like hearts. This is a nicely sized shawl, going around your shoulders and down your arms without bulkiness. The pattern shows how to make the lace with a chart, a 13 row repeat, with odd-numbered rows (except for the seed stitch edging) done in a purl stitch. Instruction...
Knitting: Hats - Other
This hat starts out in garter stitch and then continues on up with the basketweave stitch. It’s very similar to my Green Manos Hat pattern but this pattern is for a thicker, bulkier yarn. I needed only one skein and had a little left over. The top of the hat can either be closed up by pulling the yarn through the live stitches or, as I preferre...
Knitting: Shrug / Bolero
This is a short, light-weight sweater with three-quarter length sleeves (instructions for full-length sleeve is included in pattern), made with large size 10 needles that works up quickly! I have made it for my 6-year-old niece in Germany who is taking ballet. Thought it would keep her warm since there’s not much on her to keep in her body’s he...
Knitting: Headband
This is great for people who don’t need or want the top of their heads covered. It won’t mess up you hair much either! Closes with a button at the nape of neck. You’ll need to be able to knit and crochet to make this one :). That pattern includes easy to follow instructions with lots of pictures to help too. Learn new things from this pattern l...
Crochet: Scarf
You’ll get compliments with this one! Easy to make and great way to use your stash. Pattern has written directions and a chart too. You need to know how to chain, single crochet and double crochet to make this cool scarf. I think it would be considered an “Intermediate” level project. I made mine with a worsted weight wool but it would look gre...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Not a shawl for the beginner but the intermediate should be able to do fine. There are two charts and written instructions to follow for the pattern but reading charts isn’t hard! The lights and darks in the picture are not shading, they’re actually the variegated yarn doing its thing; changing from blues to yellows. The yarn is fun to work wit...
Knitting: Cozy - Other
Great quick gift for your favorite wine lover! Takes about 2 hours to whip one up. Doesn’t have a complicated round bottom, just a square. It’s made with double-stranded yarn.
Knitting: Bonnet, Cardigan
Pattern uses a chart for the lace pattern but it’s super easy, only a two-row repeat. Email me if you have any questions. Two ways to make this top-down cardigan; the first way requires no dp needles but does require sewing a seam. The other way, requires no sewing but does require dp needles. The eyelet pattern enables lacing through a pretty ...
Knitting: Cardigan
This is a nice, easy lacey cardigan on the longer side. The stitch pattern has only a two-row repeat, which you will memorize quickly and not need the written or chart instructions after a short time. Decreases are fairly uncomplicated with this pattern too and are necessary for the flattering shaping. Size small needs only 7 50-gram skeins, me...
Knitting: Hats - Other
Great hat because it can be dressy or casual. I made another one with black yarn and it goes well with my longer, black coat. Knit so that you can roll it up or not. I especially like this yarn for this pattern because it’s kettle-dyed and has slight variations in color. The stitch pattern makes it thicker and hold up to the pillbox design. The...
Knitting: Earflap Hat
This pattern is done in three different pieces, one piece going horizontally, the other two going vertically. There is embroidery to make the seam pretty. I include instructions for the selvage edge and how I make my favorite increase. There are pictures to help you understand some new concepts. I think you’ll made several of these hats as they...
Knitting: Baby Blanket
Great little lap or baby blanket and looks exactly the same on the right side or the wrong side! Once you get the hang of the pattern, you can make any size! It would be good for pillows too. I do recommend using the selvage edge, as this gives such a beautiful edge throughout. (Instructions for the selvage are included, of course.) Along with ...
Knitting: Earflap Hat
This hat is sort of airy because of the fuzziness of the yarn and the size needle. It’s started at the earflaps and then proceeds on up. When my kids were little, the hats had ties. I’m working on an adult size.
Knitting: Pullover
This is knit in pieces and then sewn together, which add some structure to the raglan areas.
Crochet: Drawstring Bag
This bag can be made with almost any yarn and in every size. Make your base smaller for a smaller bag. Change colors as you wish. When my kids were very small, we put dragon tears in them. They make great traveling jewelry carriers, good gift!
Knitting: Pullover
Top down. I used Plymouth Yukon but Rowan Big Wool would work great too, any super bulky yarn.
Knitting: Potholder
Double stranded throughout if using worsted weight yarn. Has a nice i-cord loop for hanging up.
Knitting: Cozy - Other
Super cool idea; a wine cozy! This one is also embellished with beats and a satin ribbon. Starts off as a square at the bottom and then just worked up. Great way to use your stash!
Knitting: Containers
Double stranded throughout. Starts off with a simple square and then goes up from there.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Great for beginning knitters because it’s done on single point needles; working on the garter stitch first and then going on to stockinette and then decreasing for the top. New knitters begin to recognize what knits and purls look like depending on what side they’re on.
Crochet: Scarf
This is crocheted in two parts: a main panel and then an edging. The yarn is fantastic; reasonably priced and a silver luster that is awesome.
Knitting: Balaclava
Make this hat with a super soft yarn because it will be right up around those little ears and neck. This pattern incorporates short rows for proper fitting.
Knitting: Component (stitch, edge) - Other
When I had my shop, lots of people knit up these sleeves for the denim vest because it was a good starter project; getting used to increasing and decreasing. I would suggest a marled yarn with some denim blues mixed in for a great look.
Knitting: Scarf
Gauge doesn’t matter very much with this scarf, just use that needle size and bulky yarn and you’ll have a nice scarf.
Crochet: Dress
Filet crochet top and a cloth bottom part. Very good way to make a charming jumper and use up some of your stash.
Knitting: Dress
Very cute little jumper for a little girl. Most of it is stockinette stitch but the smocking is done with 2 x 2 ribbing that is then sewn together at different intervals with a different colored yarn. So simple, but so charming.
Knitting: Sleeveless Top
I made the smallest size and the chest measurement is 36”. It has a drawstring right under the bustline which makes it very flattering and well-fitting. If you have any questions about reading the chart in the pattern, email me! Don’t be afraid to follow a chart, it’s really easy! Have fun with this pattern.
Knitting: Pullover
No reason not to knit this sweater! It’s made with reasonably priced yarn (mine cost under $30) because the skeins hold almost 500 yards for $15.00! It’s an easy pattern to follow, it’s topdown and that means no seams. Classic style sweater.
