The Ashcroft Scarf is a rectangular scarf knitted in a stacking lace-leaf motif. The lace panel is a simple 20 row repeat. The placement of the yarnovers and decreases make it easy to keep track of where you are in the repeat, and which stitches come next.

I was inspired to create this scarf while taking a long and scenic train ride through the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The fern panel is a straightforward lace pattern that’s easy to memorize. It comes from a motif common in stitch dictionaries from the early to mid 1900s.
