Knitting: Baby Blanket
Whenever friends have babies, I want to do something for them. This typically means a blanket. Rather than my go-to “pattern” of a diagonal stripey blanket, I thought I’d be different: a not-diagonal stripey blanket! The sample uses four colors, but you could easily use more or less, make it asymmetric – whatever you want, really!

You could make this blanket arbitrarily large or small. For that matter, you could use more than just two colors!

Knitting: Scarf
This scarf is a reversible cable knit in super bulky yarn, which makes for a very quick accessory or gift. The reversibility is achieved by working the cable on a 1x1 rib base. The cable is worked by crossing the stitches on either side of a center stitch across each other. The center stitch always remains at the center.
