Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Lazy Tuesday is a pretty simple hat that looks good on almost everybody. Easy to knit, easy to wear. It’s been my go-to hat for a while now because it doesn’t require a whole lot of attention and it knits up quickly in stockinette. I also love it because I don’t have to do a lot of swatching before I dive in and get started. Yes, sometimes I’m ...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Eric’s favorite knitted thing is a hat. So I knit him a new hat for Christmas. Of course, it can’t be scratchy and it can’t be too flashy and it can’t be too bulky and it has to be long enough that there’s something to pull down over the ears…you know this guy, right?

Patterning is created from a combination of knit and purl stitches, which makes it a relatively fast and ea...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
I like my gargoyles year round. I probably have half a dozen scattered throughout my house, perched on top of book cases and hutches, where they steadfastly do their job of keeping away evil forces. As it turns out, they are also a source of inspiration.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This is my favorite every day toe up sock. It’s not too fussy, it doesn’t have lacy holes to let in drafts, the stitch pattern is simple enough that it makes a good on the go project. The basket rib has more stretch than stockinette, but less than plain rib, so you get a snug but stretchy sock that fits a wide range of foot sizes without squeez...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This trio of dishcloths was inspired by the beautiful shapes and textures of paper lanterns.
