A charted pattern for top-down stranded colorwork socks in a festive mardi gras theme, using colors and motifs that remind me of cold (yet fun) mardi gras parades in New Orleans with family and friends.

This sock is designed to utilize a handspun gradient yarn with a toe-up sock and heel “flap” pattern. I knit this hat in order that I could show some team spirit for the game I was going to more-or-less 5 hours after I designed the hat. As such, I completed most of the knitting in car on the way to the game.
