Crochet: Tote, Scarf
A C2C granny Kerchief and tote bag combination which can be made with just under 500g of Stylecraft Bellissima (or other DK yarn)
Crochet: Baby Blanket
Yarn cakes work especially well with this pattern. 2 x 150g of Stylecraft Candy Swirl is enough to make an 85cm in diameter circular shawl. The pattern works equally well with solid colour yarns and variegated yarns. Although the pattern requires concentration it is easy enough for a novice crocheter to execute.
Crochet: Scarf
The Plane Trip Scarf is a “baktus” style scarf - meaning that there are 2 equal sides, 2 equal angles and the apex angle (point) of the scarf is wider than 90 degrees (obtuse).
Crochet: Tote, Scarf
The granny bag has a neat, sturdy ribbed collar and handles, which will not stretch with normal use. The lining is worked into the bag without sewing through the crochet fabric. The bags very generous size makes it great for toting around personals (purse, phone, make-up etc), as well as a small knitting or crochet project. It also makes a supe...
Crochet: Tote
I wanted a bag that didn’t look quite as casual as the ever popular “Fat Bottom Granny Bag”, with a separate lining that could be worked into the bag without sewing through the crochet square, and with neat, sturdy handles.
Crochet: Pillow / Cushion
The Zooty Owl cushion is fun to make, easy to assemble and is a great stashbuster / scrapbuster. The back consists of 45 stripes in total and each of these can be made in a different colour. The cushion back and owl body don’t require much concentration and can easily travel with you to work or wherever you go. The front panel also makes a cute...
Crochet: Scarf
In 2014 when I created my Road Trip scarf I had no idea that it would be so ridiculously popular. I had a lot of requests for a longer scarf along similar lines. I finally got around to it - the result is a long “baktus style” scarf with two possible edgings. Either a frilly edge for a whimsical look or a zig-zag bobble edging. (The original Ro...
Crochet: Table Runner
This is a very versatile pattern which can be made into a tray cloth, placemat, table runner, tablecloth, or even a blanket by increasing the number of squares made.
Crochet: Doily
A Sunflower Mandala (or Doily) which can be made up in the yarn of you choice (remember to adjust your hook according to your yarn weight). A DK (8ply) cotton with a 4.50mm hook produces a cloth of approximately 30cm in diameter
Crochet: Pillow / Cushion
A colourful Owl cushion with Popcorn Stitch Accents and edging. Cushion fastens at the back with a generous overlap
Crochet: Doily
I used Raeesah Cotton Soft DK for my test patterns with a 5.50mm hook. The Raeesah is slightly thicker than the Stylecraft Cotton - adjust your hook size according to your tension and the yarn you are using. Gauge is not all that important - so any yarn thickness is suitable.
